
MEET THE DOCTOR
Dr. Denard T. Lawrence, II, DDS, FICOI
Born and raised in Morehead City, North Carolina, Dr. Lawrence graduated from West Carteret High School in 1994. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Carolina State University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and concentration in the Pre-Med and Pre-Dental curriculum. He was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society and a member of the fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta, where he served as secretary. In 2002, Dr. Lawrence graduated from the University of North Carolina’s School of Dentistry where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) with honors. While at the University he received the North Carolina Board of Governor’s Dental Scholarship and was the senior recipient of the Academy of Operative Dentistry’s Award of Excellence.
Dr. Lawrence graduated from the Triangle Dental Institute’s Dental Implant Continuum in 2016. This training focused on dental implant surgery and hard and soft tissue adjunctive procedures. In 2016 he attended the Dominican Implant Institute’s overseas mission trip. He performed dental implant related surgeries for citizens of San Pedro, Dominican Republic.
Dr. Lawrence is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, the Fifth District Dental Society, and the Carteret County Dental Society. He is also affiliated with the Academy of General Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) where he is a recent recipient of fellowship status.
Dr. Lawrence’s continuing education continuums include The Dawson Academy and The Spear Institute. Additionally, he has received training at the Planmeca University in the areas of CAD/CAM Indirect Dentistry, digital dentistry, and 3D CBCT radiology.
Dr. Lawrence is involved in civic organizations and supports our local schools. He is a member of Ocean Lodge #405 of Ancient Free Accepted Masons. He is an active board member of F3 Carterico, a small men’s workout group emphasizing Faith, Fellowship and Fitness. He is a past board member of the Craven County Electric Cooperative and past member of the Carteret County Noon Rotary. In 2010, Dr. Lawrence served as the Chairman for the North Carolina Seafood Festival Board.
Dr. Lawrence, his wife Sarah, and their four children attend First United Methodist Church. While away from the office, his interests include spending weekends with his family and working out with his F3 Men’s Group, running, rucking, and traveling.
